Laundry department ensures thorough cleaning of cloths, be it those going to Central Sterilization Services Department (CSSD), Operation theatre, Intensive care units, wards, outpatient, labs. Collection, segregation and transport of dirty / soiled linen and other linen, in agreed time lines is as per the service standards with standard checklists. Receiving area window and dispatching of items have system for passage for non-soiled linen and disinfection area for infected.

Soiled linen is passed through jet washer installed in the soiled linen area to remove any stain/ particle, before further decontamination, washing with detergent solution machines. The washed linen is shifted to drying yard for drying in the open sunlight. During rainy season, drying tumblers and drying chambers are used for drying the washed linen. However, machines with drier are also there. The dried linen is collected and shifted to folding area for folding. After folding, the linen is packed and distributed. In the folding area, torn linen is separated for stitching/ repair works and put back into circulation. Regular linen condemnation is done with inbuilt system of replacement in stipulated delivery times to various wards/OTs/ICUs/OPDs.
