Department of Respiratory Medicine/ Pulmonology
Department offers state of art care and treatment to all strata of society with dedicated faculty, for Tuberculosis, non-tuberculosis patients like Chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), Asthma, lung cancer and Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD). Team envisions achieving goal of excellence in Lung care “Free breath” by virtue of focus on bench to bedside practice proving professional, compassionate, competent & comprehensive patient care and promoting quality clinical research.
Experts offer evaluation and management of acute and chronic lung diseases on OPD/ IPD basis with inhouse respiratory intensive care unit. Department has speciality clinics for DOTS under National tuberculosis eradication program (NTEP) with increasing case detection and treatment including Multidrug resistant (MDR) cases, Allergy and Asthma, Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Pulmonary function tests, Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS TBNA) with special telescope for samples of tissue just outside the lungs Flexible bronchoscopy for procedures like bronchial washings, broncho alveolar lavage (BAL), Transbronchial needle aspiration, Transbronchial lung biopsy. Spirometry and diffusion capacity analysis (DLCO) Designated microscopy centre (DMC) under NTEP Polysomnography lab Body plethysmography, are all available for bet of diagnosis and therapy of airway and lung disease.
